We have visited Casa Maria three times over the last 12 years and every time it's been a very special holiday. This area of Italy is completely unspoilt by tourism. Everyone we met was friendly, welcoming and patient (for those of us who attempted to speak Italian!) The village of Penna San Giovanni is quiet and beautiful, tucked away in the mountains but with spectacular views. Casa Maria is a charming house, well appointed and perfect for a large family or two! It has more than enough to cater for 12 with plenty space both inside and outside to ensure that you don't ever feel on top of each other. The bedrooms are large and comfortable providing a sense of peace and tranquillity for those requiring a rest from the rigours of everyday life. The large pool is located slightly away from the house and with stunning views. Perfect for all ages to play or relax in or around. The well equipped games room on the top floor was a useful distraction for all ages and for those with a more competitive nature. Paulo runs the gelateria and pizzeria in the village, just a five minute walk away. He and his wife, Adelie are always welcoming and dinner is both delicious and excellent value. Finally it would be remiss if we didn't mention Wendy and Barry who keep the house and pool beautifully clean and in top shape and are just a phone call away. We can't recommend this house highly enough.
