We had a wonderful weekend. Our room was fantastic overlooking the bay. I am a Gold elite member and I want to thank Gabriella for upgrading our room. She was friendly and helpful. I left some items in my room when we checked out and she was working the desk again and happily escorted me back to my room to retrieve them. Great customer service. Food was excellent I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed one night for my Birthday and cannot say enough about this hotel. We have stayed at many Marriott properties and this Hotel had the best staff! We requested early check in and waited in the Executive lounge. Karen was the host in the lounge and was amazing. She found out it was my birthday and made sure to let the front desk know. She was also extremely informative about the property and many other Marriott properties. We were very impressed with her love for her job and willingness to go above and Beyound. Beautiful desserts, balloons and chocolate were delivered to our room. We had a great time at the 27th floor restaurant for lite bites and drinks for dinner. |I had just stayed at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando and had to Pay an extra $100 for pool chairs because all the chairs with umbrellas by the pool were taken (because I needed an umbrella do to skin cancer) It was very nice that this hotel provides service, towels and we had not problem getting lounge chairs with umbrella by the pool without having to pay extra ( we already pay a resort fee) We had lunch at the pool and the service and food were terrific. We would definitely stay here again. Prompts to management at the property. Our room was a king suite corner with views of the bay all around. We requested and upgrade being Elite members and they really hit if out of the park.

Upon arrival into the lobby, the check-in is located at multiple desks spaced pretty far apart. There is no designated "line area" probably for aesthetic reasons. It can look cheap having line ropes around. When I arrived, there is one other person waiting behind someone checking in at one of the desks. So, I went to wait behind the other available desk that was checking someone in. No one said anything for several minutes. Then, the guest I was behind finished checking in. The receptionist angrily left the desk area and chastised me for not "waiting in line" and beckoned the gentleman waiting at the other desk over to check in. She was not at ALL friendly. There are no signs, nor any other indication of where a "line" would form. I would not have minded at all if she was the least bit congenial about it, but that was not the case at all. Not a great experience when showing up to a hotel where you are paying $500. Frankly, I felt like walking right back out the door after being spoken to in the manner that I was.

Anyway, the other receptionist that checked me in was perfectly pleasant and there was no problem there. The rooms are quite nice. The hotel does extort $30 out of you as a "destination fee" per day then gives you a $30 "credit" to eat at a hotel restaurant or bar per day. In short, they want to force you to go to one of the in-house restaurants or bars so the place does not look empty. The quality should speak for itself. Very chintzy given the price point of the property. Is this a Wyndham time share?

The location is excellent and the rooms are well-appointed. They need better training for the staff, clearly.

Disappointing Experience with Unprofessional Staff

I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. Early morning, I was abruptly disturbed by an employee who entered my room without knocking, simply saying “sir?” before leaving. This lack of respect for privacy was shocking and incredibly unsettling.

To make matters worse, when I reported the incident to security, I received no follow-up or updates regarding their so-called investigation. It felt as if my concerns were completely ignored. Not once did anyone from the hotel reach out to apologize or address the situation, which is unacceptable for any establishment, especially one that claims to prioritize guest satisfaction.

Overall, the lack of professionalism and communication left a sour impression. I expected much more from my stay, and I can't recommend this hotel based on my experience. Stay away if you need privacy.

Also, for an $80 breakfast, you expect a more satisfying meal of better quality.

Rooms are generally well-appointed and clean, pool area is extremely crowded and does not deserve the term sun deck.

That said, JW Marriott double-charged me ($53.75) for parking, once on the folio and once in a separate charge on the same card and same day. The number that I was told to call sent me to what I would surmise was a call center located inside a chicken coop. I was competing with the chickens and at least one rooster to get my point across to the operator. He said that he would send a notice to the hotel. Nothing happened for 12 days, when I called back again, I was then told that they had sent me an email (untrue) from the comptroller, noting that I had NOT been double-charged. A waste of my time, and frankly insulting to send customers from what should be a luxury brand to such comical call centers, where nothing is resolved. Calling my credit card and disputing the duplicate charge which is not on my folio but same card (this minor point seems to be beyond comprehension for this hotel). Don't waste your time with this hotel.

My visit was perfect from the initial ingress, housekeeping (she is excellent), concierge, front desk staff, food services - restaurants and room service - janitorial staff keeps that place spotless. Bartenders, waiters everyone. Food was delicious, bed was comfortable and everyone was kind.||Excellent location near the arena and convention center. First visit to Tampa and the JW added to a memorable experience

I stayed for 2 nights for a convention. Being across the street was extremely convenient. The room was very clean and fresh and some amenities were provided. The shower could have been a little cleaner. Everything worked. No issues at all with the room. However I was charged a $30 per night convenience fee that I was not expecting, but it grants you just as much in dining fees or store credit. Just make sure you charge it to your room. It resets at 12pm they told me. So time your usage carefully. I put my sign up for no house keeping and I was not bothered. I left the place how I found it and was not charged anything extra. The restaurant was very high quality as were the items in the cafe.
