This is an incredible resource for mental health in Jackson County. I’ve utilized their services and despite some communication issues, they are always so kind and accommodating. Many negative experiences I see are from people already dealing with a lot of stress outside of this facility, and aren’t patient going into it.
Like other bureaucratic services, it helps going into this place with a mindful and patient attitude, if you can.

The fact that this is walk in only is mind blowing. How do you expect people to wait 2+ hours on a walk on bases? Especially those who work or that are elderly. There should be an appointment system.

Waited on the wait list for almost a year, had my first therapy appointment on a monday & it went well, had a follow up appointment that next monday but was told when I arrived that my therapist had quit working for the company. About a month & a half later & a lot of calls to higher ups I was finally able to get another appointment with somebody else, arrived at the building I was told to go to 15 minutes before my appointment & was told 5 minutes before it was supposed to start that the therapist I was supposed to see was at the other building on the other side of Independence & i couldn’t make it in time. VERY frustrating having your mental health played with by mental health care providers. Sad.

I can’t tell you how upsetting our latest, and last, visit to this establishment has been. We will not be returning. The therapist we have been working with has recommended a psychiatrist who actually will treat my grandson for what his problems are, ADHD & tremendous anxiety. Found out today, this “clinic” (their term not mine) isn’t even able to diagnose him! What are we doing here then? His doctor does not listen, obviously since she asked him four times in a telehealth call how often he sees his therapist. I tried to tell her his PCP was wondering about prescribing a different med, suggested the med she (his PCP) would like to see him try, & I was met with “attitude”. She ended up telling me if his neurologist was better able to treat him then we could just go there….
No mammmm, I said his personal care physician, we have told you several times (during this meeting) that he has not seen neurologist yet. By this time my grandson was furious, as was I, so I stood up, & he was out the door in an instant. I told her we have taken all the attitude & disrespectful treatment from her we need for this year.
She obviously didn’t have any notes from previous appointments on her laptop she kept consulting, since she got med dosage wrong in two different Rx….
Thankfully, my grandsons therapist has recommended, & we have gotten an appointment with, a specialist in Kansas who will hopefully finally give up on the SSRI meds that don’t help him & treat with meds that will help. Don’t go here!

We saw Dr Matt his behavior was unacceptable he was condescending to me as the adult with my child and dismissing told us to return when my 16yo could tell the truth he didn’t want to listen he just seemed angry and annoyed that he was there and that he had to deal with a teenager with extreme issues, the reason we were there! If he is having a bad day he should have cancelled his appointments and went home to get his head straight. I mentioned a word noncompliance and he informed me that term is no longer appropriate my therapist said it is used all the time to end this is we will and can not recommend your place for mental health care

Worst rapid response team ever
They are not professional the women that run. The rapid response team are trashy and rude. They talk bad about the clients in front of other clients. They also laugh at you on the phone when you call during a crisis.
You need new employees and training in crisis response.

There is a shortage of Therapists, due to an increase of people who need services. I understand that. Maybe that's why I was persistent and patient. I've switched to online therapy and found the best Therapist I've ever encountered through Comprehensive. It's my responsibility to follow through with my own mental well-being. Today I am responsible. Thank you for your services to our community. There are many of us who really do appreciate you. God bless

My oldest daughter waited almost 6 months to get an appointment with a therapist, THEN the day before the appointment they called and Cancelled and rescheduled.....then we went to ONE appointment and then we get a call saying we have to get a new therapist because ours got a promotion....that's great for her but how os my daughter supposed to make a connection with someone if we can't get past the first dam appointment.
My youngest daughter has been on the wait-list for a YEAR for a therapist and has not gotten a call....still just being told she's on the wait-list. DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.

Still waiting for an appointment for my youngest. No one calls anyone back, and don't expect anyone to answer a phone call
