My sister and I had a fabulous stay at the apartments. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, they were kind warm and inviting. The rooms were incredibly clean and the bathrooms had a vanilla scent through the air vents. All interior was high speck throughout. Within walking distance to central Melbourne and with 24 hour concierge it felt incredibly safe. Shout out to Ryan who is the most amazing host! Thank you for making our stay memorable!

Pretty good room prices but not worth the ordeal.

Got 2x rooms for one night and had $300 taken as a security deposit? No idea why they wouldn't just take a holding charge and adjust if needed - stupid process.

On top of this one of the two rooms had BED BUGS. Found this out at 3AM and went to the front desk to get a new room, just for the replacement room TO ALSO HAVE BED BUGS! Finally settled into a third room at nearly 4:30AM since we were sitting around for ages for them to sort their act out.

No apologies or compensation offered for multiple screw-ups and inconveniences on their end.

stayed for over a week for PAX weekend. great location for wanting to do activities in both South Melbourne and the CBD. room was very nice and staff were super friendly. only downside to our stay was the bathroom fan was very noisy and there is no way to switch it off

first thing we noticed is that the lady at reception was pretty rude & blunt, we got charged $30 to checkin 2 hours earlier even though our room was all ready for us as I had requested this when we booked the room over 3 months prior to our stay … which is okay I sort of understand but have never experienced this anywhere so I was slight shocked when she said this. The rooms are TINY ! No balcony which was a shame. The room stunk of bleach and because there’s no windows or a balcony we couldn’t air the place out so we were chocking on bleach fumes. They reused the toilet rolls from the previous stay which is sooooo unhygienic so they had given us two toilet rolls that were a quarter full each roll … for a 4 day stay and no full spare rolls ? there was really no attention to detail in the rooms at all and it doesn’t seem like the staff are very attentive or have much care factor for the people paying to stay here… I don’t think the cleaners actually do a decent clean in between stays as there was lots of dust and dirt build up around the room. There was no quilt cover on the blanket ? the beds are really uncomfortable. we had a random come and knock at our door 5 times at 5:00am ! We didn’t open the door and thankfully we didn’t as reading other reviews it sounds like they have an agreement with the hospital to let ex druggys stay here and that it isn’t safe ! As a young woman staying here with my sister this made me feel very unsettled! I understand why it is not expensive to stay here and I definitely would not stay here again ?

The room was fine and well priced. |However, they took a pre authorization for $150 on check in. It is now 18 days later and they haven’t removed the pre authorization so I’m still without my money. I don’t know about you but $150 removed from my pocket is a big deal to me and my family. |I tried to call them twice and the phone disconnected. I emailed them twice and have received no response at all. |It’s a pre authorization so they don’t even have the money, and neither do I. |The way it stands the pre authorization expires automatically after 3 weeks. A decent establishment would actually cancel it after no longer than 5 business days. |It is just plain rude, inconsiderate and lazy. |They do not deserve your business.

The actual place was fine. What isn’t fine is them taking a pre authorization for $150 off my account and now - 20 days later -they still haven’t released my funds. They don’t even have my funds in their account, they’re just blocking me from using my own money. I tried to call them twice and the call automatically cut off without reaching a person. I emailed them twice and have received no reply at all after over a week. All they need to do is remove the pre authorization. It’d take 2 minutes. It is plain lazy, rude and inconsiderate. There are plenty of other hotels in the area. I suggest you go to one of them. I won’t ever stay with another City Edge.

I booked this place without looking at the comments and definitely had second thoughts after reading some of these!
Honestly, I don't know if it's because our expectations were very low but we had a really pleasant 2 nights stay. Staff was super nice and friendly. Our studio looked freshly renovated, it was spacious and clean with a really comfy bed. Not much to complain about.
Perfectly located a short walk away from the tram, it only took us about 10-15 minutes to get into the city and back.

The room itself was Ok. The service from management and desk staff was terrible. We had $150 USD taken from our room, when we explicitly told the front desk that we did not want anyone to go into the room, didn't matter, they still went in, did nothing except replace one of the two towels, take some rubbish and our cash. Response from management was "oh sorry". The offered to refund our $60 parking charge, which they never have done. I strongly urge you to look at another hotel there are pleanty to choose from
